2nd stimulus check

i filed my taxes thru turbo tax so could recieve my second stimulus check. i had no income in 2020 and the only reason i filed was to get my 600.00 stimulus check. when i checked the status of my refund it said it was taken for back child support. they took the first stimulus for child support, and every thing i read,researched says they can't take it.

If you were getting the 2nd stimulus amount as a recovery rebate credit on your 2020 tax return, that money can indeed be seized for back child support. When they sent out the first round of those 2nd checks in late 2020 or very early 2021 they were not seizing them for child support. BUT.....but....but...if you did not receive it then and used the credit on your tax return to get it, a credit on your tax return can be used to pay your back taxes or debts owed like child support. Sorry.
