When my husband & I first started (36 years ago) we had credit card debt. You can never pay down a credit card if you pay the minimum payment each month, so we would looked for an interest free credit card, then transferred a high balance card to the interest free card & our monthly payment went right to the balance. On the other cards we would try to pay a little more than the minimum, once the balance was paid off the interest free card, we would add another balance, or if the interest free time was over, we would get another interest free card. It takes time but now our credit scores are over 800 & we now only have one or two credit cards we pay off every month.
