MSRRA Previous Years, refund?

Hello,

I married my Marine back in 2021. He is an resident for Indiana and I'm a Virginia resident. Every year except 2024, we have filled married but separately since we are residents in different states, no one ever told us about MSRRA until this year. That being said, can I file for a refund for the state of VA for the 2021, 2022, 2023 tax years and get reimbursed for those years that I paid state taxes? If so how do I go about doing this.

Yes, you can amend your state taxes, but if you choose to elect MSRRA, you would have to file the income for Indiana. See How do I amend my state tax return? - TurboTax Support - Intuit.
