There is no military discount code to apply. Simply start your TurboTax Online return and use your military W-2 to verify your rank, and your savings will be applied when you file if you’re eligible.

Your discount should be applied at the end of your return when you are ready to file.

In the My Info section of the program you need to indicate that you are active military. You must enter a Military W-2 in the Wages & Income section and after completing the W-2 on the screen labeled Let's check for uncommon situations you will need to check the box Active military duty

When you complete the tax return using the above information you will not be charged for either the federal or state tax returns. (Assuming you have indicated you are enlisted personnel)

Military discount is valid for active duty and reservists of an enlisted rank (E-1 through E-9) with a W2 from DFAS,

Excludes National Guard members
Excludes TurboTax Live products

In TurboTax Online, review the questions in My Info in the upper left hand corner of the screen.

Make sure that the questions have been correctly answered at the screen Let's check for some other situations. Make sure that you report a military W-2.

I had to call to get a voucher. Last year it was the same issue they couldn’t figure out why it doesn’t work. I’ve been doing my taxes for years with TurboTax until last year I had issues with the fee. They need to figure out what is the issue because if not it’s false advertisement.

There is NO discount on TurboTax Live or TurboTax Desktop products (TurboTax CD/Download). Discount applies only to TurboTax Online Product (Free Edition, Deluxe, Premium).
