You may need to file a paper tax return. If you received a 1099-R form for the distribution it should have all of the information you need to put into your return and file.

If there is a piece missing that you do not have access to you can print your return, sign, date and mail it according to the instructions that print out with the return.

Is this in regard to a state tax return? Nowhere on a federal tax return is the decedent's SSN needed when reporting a distribution paid to a beneficiary.
