      <description>&lt;P&gt;So is the withholdings on the 1099r also good for state? I'm asking cause it says federal withholding on line 4.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No, box 4 for federal tax withheld is not "good for the state."&amp;nbsp; If any tax was withheld for the state it would be shown in boxes 12 -14 on the 1099R.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;But information flows from the federal return to your state return.&amp;nbsp; The money you took out of your retirement account will go to the state return form.&amp;nbsp; We do not know what state you are in, so we cannot know if your state taxes retirement income.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
