      <description>&lt;P&gt;so sorry for your loss and I know this is very difficult time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;Social Security survivor benefits&lt;/B&gt;&amp;nbsp;for children are considered&amp;nbsp;&lt;B&gt;taxable&lt;/B&gt;&amp;nbsp;income only for the children who are entitled to receive them, even if the checks are made out to a parent or guardian. Most children do not make enough in a year to owe any taxes.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;did she have any other income such as unearned like dividends or interest?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Most likely is she will not have to file unless she had other income....&amp;nbsp; You do not have to declare her benefits on your return.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
