topic Is my pension an RMD? in Retirement tax questions

I am 70.5 years of age and started my RMD on my 401K this year and it was calculated by the insurance co. My pension started at age 59 in 2005 and turbo tax has not asked this question about my pension until this year. The pension is for life or until the fund goes bust. Not a set amount, there are cost of living raises but not a set fund. so is it indeed an RMD also?

Yes when you turn 70 1/2 it will start asking you if it is the RMD. Say YES. Anything your pension pays you is the RMD.
