    <description>I retired from the Amer Red Cross...a nonprofit with a Defined Benefit Program.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I get a monthly pension.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;I do NOT think it is an RMD.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Can I check the box indicating the $15,154 I received was NOT an RMD and avoid any penalty???</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Even defined benefit plans have to meet the RMD requirement of the tax code.&amp;nbsp; It's just not apparent that your pension payments are RMDs since the plan is always set up so that the payments satisfy the RMD requirements.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Simply indicate that the pension payments are all RMD and the entire RMD required of the plan.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
