&lt;B&gt;&lt;A href="https://www.irs.gov/publications/p502/ar02.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;/A&gt;Special design.&lt;/B&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;You can include in medical expenses the difference between the cost of a regular car and a car specially designed to hold a wheelchair."&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;Any conversion costs that are paid over and above the cost of the basic van would be deductible. &amp;nbsp;It doesn't matter whether they are financed or paid with cash. &amp;nbsp;Only the excess of medical expenses over 10% of your Adjusted gross income are deductible, though. &amp;nbsp;(7.5% of 65 or over.)&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;
