      <title>How do I find the lump sum payment for social security in a previous year. It is supposed to be less than zero. How can that be?  I cannot file my taxes because of that</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If there was no lump sum payment on the SSA-1099 for 2016 and you answered the question as &lt;B&gt;No&lt;/B&gt; after answering as &lt;B&gt;Yes&lt;/B&gt; and the program still wants you to enter the lump sum information, then you need to delete the Social Security benefits worksheet and re-enter the SS tax data.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Click on &lt;B&gt;My Account &lt;/B&gt;at the top of the program screen. &amp;nbsp;Click on &lt;B&gt;Tools&lt;/B&gt;. &amp;nbsp;Click on &lt;B&gt;Delete a form&lt;/B&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Delete the&amp;nbsp;&lt;B&gt;&lt;U&gt;Social Security Benefits Worksheet&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/B&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;

      &lt;B&gt;&lt;/B&gt;
    &lt;/U&gt;
    &lt;B&gt;&lt;/B&gt;
  &lt;/SPAN&gt;

&lt;LI&gt;Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;Or enter &lt;B&gt;social security benefits&lt;/B&gt; in the &lt;U&gt;Search&lt;/U&gt; box located in the upper right of the program screen. &amp;nbsp;Click on &lt;B&gt;Jump to social security benefits&lt;/B&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
