When you enter your 1099-R in the Federal section, TurboT...

When you enter your 1099-R in the Federal section, TurboTax will automatically transfer the information to your Virginia return. When you are in the Virginia tax return, you can view the Virginia tax summary to verify that the withheld taxes have been reported. Make sure you enter an employer identification number (EIN) for the state distribution. (Click the screenshots below for reference.)

To view the Virginia Tax Summary:

Continue working on your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)

Click the State tab (left side of your screen).

Click Continue when TurboTax displays Let's get your state taxes done right.

If you haven't already added the Virginia return, do so now. Otherwise, click Edit for the Virginia return.

Click Tax Tools (lower left side of your screen).

Select Tools.

In the pop-up window, select View Tax Summary.

TurboTax will display a Summary of Your Virginia Taxes. Locate the entry for "Total payments" to verify it was transferred from the 1099-R section of TurboTax.
