      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;B&gt;It depends.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/B&gt;If you did not have a&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;High-Deductible Health Plan&lt;/I&gt; (HDHP), then any contribution is an excess contribution, because you are not allowed to contribute to an HSA if you do not have an HDHP.&amp;nbsp; If you&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;do&amp;nbsp;&lt;/I&gt;have an HDHP, make sure you have indicated as such in the&amp;nbsp;&lt;I&gt;HSA&lt;/I&gt; portion of the interview.&amp;nbsp; For more information, please see this FAQ:&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4787500" target="_blank"&gt;https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4787500&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
