topic 1099-NEC from Field Comp in Retirement tax questions

Used to work with Aflac, and I received a 1099-NEC as a referral perk or “field comp” from a new agents’ work. I can’t finish filing because I have left questions blank that do not apply to me, such as the business name, accounting method, principle business code, and state ID, and similar questions. How should I fill these in since my “self employment” doesn’t fit most questions?

You were paid as an independent contractor so you have to report the income as self-employment as if you were operating a business. For Business Name you just enter your name or your initials followed by "Referrals" or whatever you want. For accounting method, select "Cash". The program has a look up for Business Code. The program will guide you through all of these. Don't over think it, go with the simple answer.
