    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;To clear the error and allow your return to e-file, you need to manually fill in the blanks for the State. However, you must do so at the &lt;STRONG&gt;Federal level&lt;/STRONG&gt;, not the State.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;OL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;Go back to the &lt;STRONG&gt;Federal 1099-R&lt;/STRONG&gt; entry screen under, "&lt;STRONG&gt;Wages &amp;amp; Income&lt;/STRONG&gt;"&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Locate Box 16&lt;/STRONG&gt; and for the State information section (Boxes 14–16).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;Enter the Amount of the Gross Distribution from &lt;STRONG&gt;Box 1&lt;/STRONG&gt; (&lt;STRONG&gt;or the taxable amount from Box 2a&lt;/STRONG&gt;) and type it into &lt;STRONG&gt;Box 16&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;Ensure the state (NY) and the Payer's State ID are filled in&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;If the ID is missing, you can usually use the&lt;STRONG&gt; Federal EIN&lt;/STRONG&gt; from the top of the Form&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;Because the box is blank, the State return is not able to compute the tax.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
