Current Turbotax questionnaire does not have an option for rolling over 401K from one employer to TSP from my previous employer. All it asks is rolling over to Roth, etc

TSP is not Roth, it is Federal version of 401K

1) Wah is in box 2a (same as box 1 or not? or nothing?)

2) What is the code in box 7?

for 20,000 in box 1 (and 2a if it makes a difference)

1) If the code in box 7 is a G, from doing a direct transfer.....they only need to ask the ROTH questions, and a transfer/rollover to another retirement account is assumed.

...when I do that in a test file (box 2a same as box 1), an look at my 1040, the amount shows up on line 5a, but is not included in line 5b. (Just answering NO to the ROTH questions)

2) IF the code in box 7 is not a G, then there are a series of questions about what you did with the money. One of which asks about it and you select either

a) "Yes, I rolled over $20,000.00 to an IRA or other retirement account (or returned it to the same account).

or ....if taxes were withheld, and you didn't make them up when put into the TSP

b) "No, I rolled over less than $20,000.00.".........and then get to indicate what was actually rolled.
