&lt;P&gt;Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)&lt;BR /&gt;Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)&lt;BR /&gt;Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)&lt;BR /&gt;Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security&lt;BR /&gt;On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What happens when you use this procedure?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Are you using the TurboTax online web-based editions?&amp;nbsp; Or are you using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer?&amp;nbsp; If the desktop editions which OS are you using, Windows or Mac?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Windows desktop version&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The screen shows my 2024 entries with "needs update" - in orange -&amp;nbsp; no option to proceed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I forced an entry via forms and it is also listed on the same screen now, same "needs update"&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Someone suggested that I delete all 5 and start over.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;The Form 1099-R section was finalized and made available in TurboTax on 01/21/2026 for the online editions and on 01/22/2026 for the desktop editions.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you are using the desktop edition, click on&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Online&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;at the top of the desktop program screen and then click on&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Check for Update&lt;/STRONG&gt;s to make sure the software is at the latest release.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;thanks. might be worth the manual try.&amp;nbsp; Product was updated prior to problem. Then the help bot suggested uninstall, repair &amp;amp; reinstall then update so I did that this week.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Been using turbotax since the 1990s, not sure why so many changes were launched this year.&amp;nbsp; Very frustrating for sure.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you for your assistance.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Possible work around for anyone struggling with this...I went to forms &amp;amp; updated all pink boxes, form by form in the 1099R category. Most of the frozen 1099-R's unfroze.&amp;nbsp; This has taken 4x the usual time to enter my data, mostly to try to find a work around.&amp;nbsp; Did all of the uninstall, install, defragment disc etc, nothing worked, until I manually forced all entries in forms.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
