Looks like you missed a digit in box 3 for SS Wages or put the decimal point in the wrong place.

$1,653.04 in box 4 means your wages were 26,661.94 in box 3. With all those 6s you may have missed one.

Social Security Tax "excess amount" is being calculated wrong in the turbotax system. It's correct on my end when calculated manually. Please check your website's coding.

When entering my W2, TurboTax prompted that my employer owes me refund money in excess social security tax paid. The amounts broken down in the screen show an 'Excess amount' that is actually incorrect when calculated manually. This is very alarming that a simple multiplication formula (wages x 6.5%) is not working in the system I've done my taxes on for years.

The correct formula for social security tax is:

SS wages x 6.2%

Please check and comment here.

Social Security Tax is found by multiplying an employee's gross taxable wages by 6.2%.

When I put my W-2 in the system the Turbotax calculation comes out incorrect (see screenshot below). When skipping this screen, I found other areas of the Turbotax system are calculating incorrectly as well.
