Why is turbo tax not creating a 1040 SR form. Instead, it is creating a 1040. Husband is over 65 and I am not. We file married couple. His income is retirement and IRA distribution, and I have a W2 and 2 1099-NEC. We mae less this year than last and 2024 turbo tax created the 1040 SR form.

I understand they are pretty much the same but why is is not creating the senior form.

If you print it out, it will print on 1040SR since one of you is 65 or older. The Form 1040 and 1040SR are not just "pretty much" the same. They are identical and all of the calculations are done in exactly the same way. The difference is in the size of the print. Your tax due or refund are not affected in any way whatsoever.
