CSA 1099-R, Statement of Annuity Paid , is a variation of the 1099-R form for Federal retirees. It’s used to report civil service retirement payments.

To enter your CSA 1099-R:

Sign into your account and open your return by selecting the Take me to my return button.
Type “1099-r” (lower-case, with the dashes) in the Search box.
Select the "Jump to" link in the search results.
On the Your 1099-R screen, select Yes and continue.
- If you land on the Your 1099-R Entries screen instead, select Add Another 1099-R and continue.
At the import screen, select I'll type it in myself and continue.
Select the CSA-1099-R option (verify the right spouse is selected, if applicable) and continue.

I entered annuity dollars and taxes, as a 1099r. The form also shows as a CSA 1099r, is this the same, or do I need to change the type of form, on my online return?

If you received a CSA 1099-R and it’s appearing as a CSA 1099-R, you’re fine.

If you received a normal 1099-R and it’s appearing as a CSA 1099-R, go ahead and delete it, and re-input.

Here is how you will enter the form..

Go to federal>wages and income>all income
Retirement plans and Social Security>show more
Ira (401K), pension plan Withdrawals(1099R) Start
Here you will begin entering your 1099R
The next screen asks how you would like to enter the information, indicate you will type it in yourself.
Next screen says what kind of 1099-R do you have, select the first selection 1099-R, withdrawal of money from 401K, retirement plans, pensions, IRA, etc.
