When will the 1099-R and 1099_Misc online forms be available for 2024? January 11 is the date indicated but it is now January 25 and they are still not available?

It depends. The IRS is not yet accepting all returns until January 27th. If they are not quite ready with every situation we must also wait. The forms are not required to be issued until January 31st so my advice is to keep checking back until then.

I suggest that you change the messaging in the program to say this, instead of "Available 1/11"

The program is ready now to enter them but your bank or broker etc. might not have the import files available to download yet. Those are separate files and not the same as the 1099 pdf files you can download from the company. Most import files won’t be ready until mid or late February . Like Wells Fargo says Feb 14.

Perhaps I have not asked the question clearly. I have my 1099-R from SSI and my pension but when I try to enter the information into the program I get this message (I have signed up for email alerts twice):

This section will be ready January 11

This section is unavailable while we work on updates for recent tax law changes.

It's OK to skip this for now and work on other parts of your return.

We'll let you know when it's time to come back.

Are you using the Desktop program? Have you updated the program? Go up to Online - Check for updates. Updates usually come out on Thursdays. Try updating a couple times. And reboot your computer.

If you are using the Online version clear your cookies and cache.

I am using the online version... I did as you suggested and voila... the section is now available! Thank you!
