I entered a 1099R for my spouse’s small teamster’s pension. The program is asking me to tell how much of this amount is a RMD because of his age. This is a pension that is paid monthly for the duration of his life and then of mine after he dies. The program is asking me which portion of this isn’t RMD, and will not allow me to say that this doesn’t apply. What do I do?

I tried answering that way, also, but then it wants to know the total contributions so that we know the distribution is enough. It keeps telling me I need to review my entries.

When you enter the 1099-R in TurboTax you'll come to a page titled "About this Retirement Account."

On that page, answer Yes that the withdrawal was an RMD, and then check that all of the distribution was an RMD.

No, but you need to delete the 1099-R that you entered and start it over. You can't get to the screen that @TomD8 mentions above unless it is a new 1099-R you are entering.
