topic Indirect 60-day IRA rollover in Retirement tax questions

I took a distribution and then changed my mind and rolled it back in within 60 days. I cannot figure out how to get to the place where TT asks if you rolled it over. After saying "No" to if it was a Roth rollover, the program finishes. I never get to a screen where I can say I rolled it back into my IRA. Help!

What's the code number or letter in box 7 (or two numbers/letters) of the 1099-R?

If a "G" then it alredy knows it was rolled....you just had to let it know in the follow-up Questions that it wasn't to a ROTH.

But check your form 1040 to be sure. If that was your only IRA withdrawal...then the total distribution amount should be in line 4a, and nothing/a zero in line 4b....unless taxes were withheld originally and you didn't roll the gross distribution back in......including the withheld taxes.

and if there is no "G" in box 7...then yes, there should be a follow-up question after saying NO to the Roth question. A page should ask something like:

1) Whether you put the $$ in another retirement account

or

2) Did something else......kept it as cash.

________

And you would indicate #1 even if moved back to the same IRA account
