topic Error on Schedule 1, line 10 in Retirement tax questions

Turbotax arbitrarily added RTAA payments on Schedule 1, line 8z in the exact amount of my unemployment income from Schedule 1, line7. I have double checked the correct amount entered from my 1099-G with no RTAA income. As a result of this error, my total income is overstated by the amount your software erroneously entered on line 8z. I cannot file my returns until this error is corrected.

Yes, it sounds like you have more than one 1099-G worksheet showing the same income. Here's how to fix that:

Sign in to TurboTax.

Select Deductions & Credits.

In the left-side menu, select Tax Tools, then Tools.

Select Delete a form, from the list in the pop-up window.

Check the list for Form 1099-G (Untitled). Since you have a 1099-G for unemployment, you probably also have one that looks something like Form 1099-G (State of Florida Department of Labor & Workplace Development).

Delete the untitled one, or if they both look the same, delete the first one by selecting Delete next to the form.

Confirm your Delete, select Continue, then Continue with my return.

Now check your return to see if this got rid of the problem. You can preview it:

Select Tax Tools from the left-side menu, then Tools.

Select View Tax Summary in the pop-up box.

Select Preview my 1040 from the left-side menu.

You will see the Form 1040 with Schedules 1, 2 and 3.

When you are done, select Back from the left-side menu.

If this didn't get rid of the incorrect entry, go back to step 3 in the first set of instructions and delete the other 1099-G.

Next, you will need to enter the unemployment again:

Select Wages & Income.

Select Edit/ Add to the right of Unemployment / paid family leave (1099-G).

Enter your 1099-G in this section.

Once this is done, select Review to make sure this issue is gone.
