I did not take any distribution in 2023. Why TurboTax kept on asking me to enter information in 1099-R form during review? Is it okay to ignore those "Check This Entry" questions?

If you used a 1099-R form last year, then an empty 1099-R form may have transferred into this year's tax file.....supposedly to help you fill it out easier this year.

BUT...if you didn't take any $$ out during 2023, then that empty 1099-R form needs to be deleted.

Go to the 1099-R entry area on the Federal... Wages&Income page, and remove that empty 1099-R form from the table of 1099-R forms.

IF you don't find it there, (and if using Desktop Software), you can switch to Forms Mode, click on the 1099-R form in the left window, the delete it after it shows up in the main screen.

Or

If using the "Online" software, you can go to the Tools selection in the left side menu, and find the Delete a Form to get a listing of all forms...find the empty 1099-R and delete it.
