Entering investment sales in forms mode is very complicated and error-prone. TurboTax strongly recommends using the Step-by-Step interview to enter investment sales. It will be much simpler and easier that way.

If you do use forms mode, you do not make any entries directly on Schedule D or Form 8949. Individual sales have to be entered on a Capital Asset Sales Worksheet. From there the information flows to the Form 1099-B Worksheet, and then to Form 8949 and Schedule D. When you have a Capital Asset Sales Worksheet open in forms mode, click on Help Center. In the help window scroll down to the heading "8949 Box" for instructions to enter a box E transaction.

TurboTax Premier installed on my windows PC. Form 1099-B does not allow me to input Box E (long term not reported to IRS) transactions. I cannot create a Form 8949 as it requires the input to originate on the 1099-B. How do I enter 1099-B Box E transactions into Turbotax?

TurboTax does give you the option to select the Box category, including C and F.

Enter the description and dollar amount,

then look for a pulldown or button to open more options for that transaction.
