topic Simple IRA Box 12 Glitch in Retirement tax questions

When I get to the question, "How much of the $1,479.20 in retirement contributions from your W2 (box 12) went to a Simple Roth IRA plan?" I answered "$1,479.20" because all of my contributions went to this. However, when I attempt to file, I am told there is a "snag." Turbotax takes me to a Check This Entry page and says that "Box 12 Code S should not be greater than the value in box 12 with code S for this W2. " The amounts are EXACTLY the same......$1,479.20. How can I fix this without paying for support??

Can you tell me if you the amount in box 12 you entered was entered as a whole number? If not, please round the number and enter the rounded number. If this doesn't work, will you let us know and send us a token? Instructions below:

We would like to take a deeper dive into this message to assist you. In order to do this, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2023" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.

Then select Tools below Tax Tools.

A window will pop up which says Tools Center.

On this screen, select Share my file with Agent.

You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.

Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.

Here are the instructions if you are using TurboTax CD/Download:

Click on Online in the top left menu of TurboTax CD/Download for Windows

Select 'Send Tax File to Agent'

Write down or send an image of your token number then place in this issue.

We can then review your exact scenario for a solution.

Please also tell us any states included in the return.

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

Hi,

My token number is 1177776

I tried it with the whole number also, and it would not allow me to finish and file.

FYI: I just did the federal review and state review, and it says everything is complete & fine. Then I hit "Start" on the "Review your order" page to file, and it still says "Hmm, looks like we hit a slight snag in this section
Let's get you back to your taxes. Make sure your Internet is connected, and then select Try again, refresh your browser, or check back in a few minutes." This message has been the same since day 1 of me trying to file my taxes.
