I received 2 1099 r forms from the same bank for exactly the same amount . It was for a required cash distribution from my deceased dad’s retirement . Neither is a corrected form and I’ve taken this distribution for several years now and only received one form in the past . Same thing with my sister

Ask the bank why you got two forms, and whether they reported the distribution twice to the IRS. I would assume that you only enter one of the forms in your tax return. Is there anything at all that is different between the two forms? If the bank double reported the distribution to the IRS, they have to make the correction with the IRS.
