      <description>&lt;P&gt;You should be filing as Married Filing Jointly even if one spouse has little or no income.&amp;nbsp; Filing jointly will give you the best outcome on your tax return.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You still file a joint return, even if one spouse had little or no income.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;And..when you say you had "no" income----did you receive Social Security or a pension?&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Those go on your joint return if you received them.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;By filing a joint return, you get the married standard deduction of $27,700 (+$1500 for each spouse 65 or older), making less of your joint income taxable.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
