topic IRA 2022 contributions in Retirement tax questions

Hi community,

I have an IRA account with Vanguard. I understand the last day to contribute to 2022 was the 18th of April 2023. The account gave me the option to contribute on the 18th and when selecting this option, it said the money was available as a credit before the funds were sweeped in. The ACH transfer took a couple of days and the settlement date was the 19th. Does this still count as a 2022 contribution since the contribution was opted for on the 18th, or will it now be considered a contribution for 2023 since the settlement date was the 19th? I also simultaneously contributed $6500 for 2023 at the same time. And it shows up as only $6500 contributed for 2023.

This is a question for Vanguard. They are responsible for classifying the contribution as being for 2022 or 2023.
