      <description>&lt;P&gt;American Funds Target Date Funds are mutual funds.&amp;nbsp; They can be held within an IRA, within some other type of retirement account or outside of a retirement account, so knowing that you have an investment in this fund doesn't tell you if it's in an IRA or not.&amp;nbsp; You need to look to see how the account that holds this investment is titled.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
