First return to the 1099-R Retirement topic in the "Wages and Income" section and check box 7 of your entries to see if code 4 is there. That is an indication that the distribution was "Death" related. Ensure that box entry matches your form 1099-R. If you believe the code to be incorrect then contact you plan administrator for a solution.

Next, it sounds like that question may be in a state interview. If your code in box 7 is correct please clarify as to which state you are filing in. Someone may then be able to assist with your specific situation.

It's likely that you answered a question about this Form 1099-R wrong. I suggest deleting and reentering the Form 1099-R, making sure to answer No when TurboTax asks anything about this distribution being from an inherited IRA.
