topic RMD in Retirement tax questions

I had an RMD for 2022 and most of it went directly to my church. When I check the answer, " I did not take all of my RMD, I'm taken to the page where I enter the full RMD amount and below the amount I actually received. I am then taken to a page that indicates an error and that I must justify the error or show how I will correct it. I enter that an amount was sent directly to my church. When I go back to check on the entries, the answer " I received all of the RMD" is checked. TurboTax is indicating that I owe tax on my full RMD. There's something wrong and I can't figure out what it is. I never get to the location where TurboTax asked if I had a QCD.

When entering your 1099-R, indicate that 'the entire distribution was RMD'. You will then get a screen asking if 'you transferred some or all of this money to charity' (screenshot).

The amount that you enter will be deducted from your Taxable Income.
