Colorado limits the exclusion of retirement income to $20,000 including social security (24,000 if 65 yr old +). Turbo tax is entering the total amount of my social security that was taxed by the federal government which is over 24,000. My limit is 20,000. There is a pension worksheet that calculates correctly, however the form 104 AD which is the state form, is not applying the limit. All of the numbers are form fed. I cannot fix the amount on my tax return and it is understating my income. I called support to report the issue, but I don't know that it will get fixed. I want to file my taxes.

To clarify, what is the amount showing on line 22 on Colorado form 104AD? It should not be greater than $20,000.

The amount on line 22 form 104 AD is 24,490 the amount of my taxable SSA line 3. It’s interesting- the amount on that form line 4- primary taxpayer pension, annuity, IRA income is 0 calculated as 20,000 less the 24490. Do they assume that no one would have Social security greater than. 20,000??? There is a problem with the program.

Ah ha! Figured it out- the tax law changed in 2022 to allow all of soc security even if over the 20k limit. References in turbo tax link to an incorrect info. So all is well in the calculation.
