topic Is there a way to turn off this scamtastic $6 retirement credit that Turbotax "can't file unless you upgrade" but conveniently denies you the ability to decline/remove? in Retirement tax questions

Pretty disgusted right now that I wasted my time uploading all my details just to find Turbotax pulling this absolutely deceptive, borderline fraudulent behavior. How can they claim to allow you to file your taxes for free when their system is designed to trap you into receiving a $6 that you never even asked for at the expense of having to spend $40 to file??? Can anyone enlighten me on how you refuse/turn off this credit in order to file a simple return or has Turbotax crossed the line into full blown fraudulence this year??

The IRS Free File program is now open on the IRS.gov website.

and you can collect the $6 if you are eligible for it.

@alicewanders
