Can I fix a reported IRA amount that was a normal distribution and not a rollover?

The $11,435 was reported as a rollover and it is not, it is a normal distribution. Can I fix this through an amendment?

Was (1) the distribution code on the original 1099-R incorrect, or (2) did you tell the TT program it was a rollover when it wasn't?

@pspray - and can you please 1) post the code in Box 7 of Form 1099-R and 2) what code you entered into TT for Box 7. (it may be the same, but would add to helping you if it turns out they are different)

Use form 1040-X to add or change information on an already filed tax return.

Your income will rise and you will owe tax on that distribution.

Did you receive a corrected Form 1099-R?
