      <description>&lt;P&gt;You can claim the exception to the 10% early withdrawal in your Roth IRA if you are totally and permanently disabled. The tax code does not specifically require that you have to become disabled in the year of the withdrawal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please see this IRS document for more information:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;
