Why did they take it? You owe back taxes? Child support? student loans?

Did you receive an IRS notice asking for information or the reason for the change? Did you respond to the notice as requested?

Student loans but sense then everything is paid off I’m just trying to double check everything to make sure it doesn’t happen again

If your student loans are paid off, and everything else is current, there should be no offset against your refund this year.

You may want to double check with the serving comapny on the student loans to be sure.
