If your 1099 has no State ID number, you should call the payer to learn what it is.

If you’re unsuccessful, the payer’s federal EIN will be sufficient for the state ID number. Remember to your state two letter code in the state section of the form..

@willie1970moore The two letter state abbreviation? or the actual state ID number.

IF the $$ were issued and you live in a non-income taxing state, you can leave the entire state line of that form empty (If a 1099-R, that's boxes 14,15,16....but vary for other forms)
