there is no lump-sum section on my ssa-1099 form and im worried it will require me to calculate something as i struggle with math

If there is not a lump sum amount for a prior year in box 3 on your 2021 SSA-1099 then you did not receive a lump sum.

would there be 2 numbers in box 3 for multiple years? i see one number that's the same as the other numbers and its dated 2021

You should have one line in box 3 that says "Benefits for 2021" and an amount.

What is the other line say for the other amount?

oh, there was only one line in box 3. it was the same amount as other boxes.

Then you do not have a lump sum payment in 2021.
