Hello. I am using Turbotax to do my taxes. I am retired, not working anywhere. I have Medicare Parts A & B and I have a Medigap plan instead of a Medicare Advantage Plan. Why is your software asking for a Form 1095-B? I did not get one and I should not get one. Also, there is a section, Principle Place of Abode, that I have answered Part A1 & 2. Yes to A1 and No to A2. B has nothing to do with me because I am not married, divorced, and I have not children. I am single, never married with no children. The software will not let me skip the B part. It wants me to put something there. So, I put 0 and it does not like my answer for B2. I need help so I can finish my taxes. Thenk you.

Please Clarify your question.

The software was asking for a Form 1095-B? You do not record the 1095-B anywhere on your Federal tax return. That form simply confirms that you had Health Care Coverage.

This leads me to think you might be working on your state tax return.

Are you working on a state tax return?

If so, what state?

What section are you working on?

I am not working on State taxes, I haven't even got to that section. I am working on Federal.

If you're being asked about children, you may be in the Child Tax Credit section.

You should be able to leave the entry field blank and CONTINUE.

Or, go back up to the top and click on 'Deductions & Credits'.

This takes you back to the main page with a list of different Deductions that are available.

You don't have to go into all of the topics shown; just the ones that you believe might apply to you.

TurboTax will take you to a section if it believes you should go there (based on what you have entered).
