      <description>&lt;P&gt;Social Security can be taxable when combined with other income.&amp;nbsp; When you enter a SSA1099, the amount that was paid for Medicare flows over to the medical expense section of your return.&amp;nbsp; As for whether your medical expenses are deductible, that depends on whether you meet the overall tough threshold for claiming medical expenses.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you look on line 5a and 5b of your Form 1040 you can see if any of the SS was taxed.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
