I received a 1099-R for TX for 1 month and a second for GA for 11 months. HOWEVER, all of the distribution should have been for GA. The amount is less than $10. I called the distributing company, but they said they could not change it.

HELP!!!

The state returns will get the information from your Federal return instead of from the state distribution section of Form 1099-R. If you were a part-year resident of both TX and GA, then you can adjust the amount accordingly on the GA return when you are allocating your income for the partial year to make it all taxable on the GA return.

Annette,

I was resident of GA all year, so if I allocate 100% on my GA return you indicate that will suffice.

Thanks, Dave

Since you were a GA resident for the whole year, there will not be an allocation page to fill out splitting your income between GA and non-GA income.

Instead, the GA return will start with the Federal Adjusted Gross Income, which will include the total amount of Form 1099-R distributions. You will not need to make any adjustments for it to all be allocated to GA.
