      <description>&lt;P&gt;You must indicate that&amp;nbsp;"&lt;STRONG&gt;I am not required to pay the past due amount&lt;/STRONG&gt;" and that you are filing a joint return with your spouse.&amp;nbsp; Plus, an additional qualification shown on that screen to indicate the type of debt that your refund would be used to pay must be checked.&amp;nbsp; Otherwise, you will see a message that you are not qualified to file the Injured Spouse form.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;In other words, you are an injured spouse because of your spouse's debt which has nothing to do with you.&amp;nbsp; You are not required to pay the debt.&lt;/P&gt;
