Hello - I have a tax question an would appreciate it if someone could get back to me: This year I will have Short-Term stock losses and Long-Term stock gains. I will finish the year with more short-term stock losses and would like to use those losses to write against my Long-Term stock gains. Is this possible? Also, do short-term stock losses carry into next years? Thanks.

If short-term losses exceed capital gains up to $3,000 may be used to offset other income in 2022. it's only the excess over this that carries to 2023
