I have TurboTax Premier desktop ,and there is no place to upload .csv files. It's the reason I bought the Premier Edition. It only asked if I had crypto along the way ,and nothing else after that. I found some info on this site that shows this : In the Wages and Income section under Investments and Savings (or Investment Income), select Start or Revisit next to Crypto (1099-B) ,but Crypto isn't there.
I have already asked for a refund ,so I may try Premier Live IF it will allow these files to be uploaded from my laptop. Unless someone has better info? I tried contacting customer support. After waiting 2o minutes for a phone call ,and then waiting nearly 20 minutes for someone to FIND the proper info I was disconnected ,and had to start over. Similar experience. Support didn't know the answer , transferred me back to the waiting line. I just decided to try something different.
If anyone has any helpful info on this I would appreciate it.

I had the same issue using Desktop software. I learned that the section you're looking for is available only in the Online platform. So you'll need to use TurboTax Premier Online program to complete your taxes, OR enter each individual crypto transaction manually. I didn't have that many transactions, so that's what I did.

I have seen several users, though, complaining that each transaction uploaded from a CSV file had to be verified. So you still will possibly have to review each transaction on an individual basis. See the TurboTax FAQs that I'm sharing below for additional info.

Thank you Kat. I guess I will try the live version if our internet will handle it. I had already asked for a refund of the desktop version ,so not sure if I should wait to see how that goes ,and then buy the live version.

Do you have on line "Live" version , or desktop download? I have the downloaded version not on line Live.

It is the on-line "live" premier version where I successfully uploaded a CSV from Cointracker.

More info...I started with the on-line live premier version. But I hit a roadblock with the high volume of brokerage transactions (not crypto). I could not update some of the brokerage 1099B entries that had the wrong basis. So I have actually switched to the desktop/CD version. With the desktop Premier version it can support the high volume of brokerage transactions, but the trade off is it does NOT support the upload from Coinbase. I did not have many crypto txns, so I will enter them manually from the form 8949 generated from Cointracker.

You may be able to convert your .csv file to a .txt file and upload it into TurboTax Desktop Premier version.

Follow these steps outlined by JoeFM here.

Created a .csv file with all transactions using the format shown at Easytxf.
Used Easytxf to convert the .csv file into .txf file.
Import .txf file into Turbotax Desktop: File / Import / From Accounting Software / Other Financial Software (TXF) file / Continue / Choose a File to Import / Import now.
A 1099-B with all Crypto transactions is now created. This entry can now be edited to include the account details. Each transaction can be edited as well.

Thank you. I really don't know much about the crypto stuff. I'm trying to do my son's taxes. I was just hoping it was an easy upload of files. I guess that's not the case. lol

@JamesG1 Thank you. I will try this ,but I'm not an expert at it. I'm just not familiar with the crypto stuff. I'm doing my son's taxes ,and this is the first year for this. I have no idea what I'm looking at when I see all those transactions. lol

@JamesG1 I tried the conversion ,but both failed. Neither file is set up the way they require. Columns are different ,but thank you again for the info. I'll just have my son get a local tax expert to do it.

Two more options:

1. Enter the total short term on one line and total long term on the next line. Mail in a copy of your 1099-B. Very easy.

2.You can make your own csv file. Manually change your columns to 5 columns in this order:

Purchase date
Date sold
Proceeds
Cost basis
Currency name

Then you can upload the document and select 1099-B as the type. To upload:

My Docs is available in all paid TurboTax Online products or by adding PLUS to Free Edition.

Sign in to your TurboTax account. If you're already signed in, select Tax Home on the left menu
Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents. Select Show and select your desired tax year
Select My Docs
Select Upload and select the document you want to upload
Answer the questions and select Done or Upload another tax form

@AmyC What I see when I open the Robinhood file is Asset Name - Received Date - Cost Basis(USD) - Date Sold - Proceeds - Amount - Duration - Non Covered - Basis Reported.
Coinbase has = Portfolio - Type - Time - Amount - Balance - Amount/b(which shows in USD ,or ADA ect.)
I don't have an active app for Excel so I can only view basically.

@AmyC Thanks so much for your post! I do have one question. If you upload the csv you created to your documents, should you then just delete any crypto information that you previously entered?

OK, I figured it out. AND I REPEAT, I FIGURED IT OUT. After countless unnecessary hours trying to use, (simple) software. lol

This new generation is so smart they end up complicating EVERYTHING!

Anyway, rant over. lol, With Jame's mention of the .txt import in turbo tax premier desktop version.

File / Import / From Accounting Software / Other Financial Software (TXF) file / Continue / Choose a File to Import / Import now.

And only after me trying cointrader.com, cryptotrader.tax, then finally used Koinly to consolidate all my crypto trades to then convert to an csv file.

Well get this, in your Koinly account for tax forms select "turbo tax CD" and they GIVE YOU A FRICKING TXT FILE. Downloaded, Imported in Turbotax, and done. You do not even need an csv file!

So if you use Koinly, you can import all your crypto exchanges in Koinly and you only pay when you're satisfied with everything. Download your TXT file not CSV and upload it into turboturd!

Geez....
