People often do this to try to be sure that enough taxes are withheld.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks for the fast reply! “Married but at a higher single rate” used to be an option on a W4, but now all I see is “single or married filing separately”, “married filing jointly”, or “head of household”. So how would I accomplish this?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;You can withhold single/separate even if you are planning on filing married joint. You will just have more tax taken out, which often&amp;nbsp;helps if your spouse works or if one of your works part-time.&lt;/P&gt;
