Still confused. The form 1099 Composite is 12 pages long and then the next 30 pages are the Year-End Summary. I entered everything manually to start with and will not be importing from brokerage. Do I send just the Composite or the Composite with the Year-End Summary? 4 pages are already pushing the max 10MB limit to upload so I'm not sure how I'd upload 12 pages let alone 43.

Just download the 1099 Composite. (approx. 12 pages) No need for the entire year end summary.

This should provide the information needed to provide the summary information for 1099-B, 1099-DIV and 1099-INT.

if you are talking about supplying transaction detail in PDF form, rather than mailing it in.

You only need to supply PDF of 1099-B covered transactions with adjustments that are not listed on your e-Filed Form 8949. and all non-covered transactions not listed there.

in other words, generally this is a list of the Wash Sales.

However it can be tricky to break out only a portion of your broker supplied PDF. I do it using CutePDF Writer. which has a free version.

OR supply the entire 1099-B PDF, or supply the entire consolidated 1099-B statement, which will have everything but is more than what is required.

Note: turboTax may suppress some covered transactions without adjustments. For those, no mailing is required !

If you have two pages (for example) of Wash Sales,

use Adobe Reader to print those two pages. That's all you have to mail to the IRS, given that those wash sales are not on your e-Filed form 8949 already.

Then you won't have to worry about uploading a PDF with e-File.

TurboTax won't even confirm via FAQ that this feature even exists or works properly.
