If back payments of owed rent are recovered after eviction and property must be renovated, is that still rental income even if the house could not be rented?

It is rental income to be reported on the Sch E where all the expenses + depreciation should be also listed.

Additionally, that rental income is reported as rental income in the tax year it was received. It does not matter what year that income for for.
