Do you work out of your home? Normally, unless you are working out of your home for the convenience of your employer, there is no deduction for rent expense or other living expenses.

If you do have an office in your home (for the convenience of your employer-means they require you to work out of your home) then you may qualify to deduct some of your rent expense as an employee business expense.
